Not since the 8th grade have I seen so many vibrant metallic shades. Back then, I coveted anything bright and shiny (tacky was not a word I had learned yet), but the older and more subdued me is not feeling it. There’s nothing wrong with some color and there’s also nothing wrong with some metallic shine. But together? It’s like something you would carry to a Candyland-themed nightclub. What do you think of bright metallic bags?
Sophia Webster Azealia Striped Python Clutch: With the Year of the Snake almost here, I have to say that this is just a complete desecration of python. It does make me want to go somewhere over the rainbow, though. Somewhere very far over it. Exclusively on NET-A-PORTER for $995.
Burberry Prorsum Metallic Textured-Leather Shoulder Bag: Burberry Prorsum has a lot of brightly colored metallic bags out right now (green, yellow, purple, etc.), and yet, not one of them is wearable. On NET-A-PORTER for $895.
Fendi Metallic Shoulder Bag: Anytime you spend this much money on a bag, you take a decent amount of time to really consider it. I only need one second to pass on this mixed print Fendi, though. On Farfetch for $3,749.77.
Jimmy Choo Sweetie Clutch Bag: I’m not even sure if Nicki Minaj would carry this. The Sweetie’s shape is great for a party clutch, but the sparkles are shining a little too bright. On Farfetch for $686.42.
Milly Lola Minaudiere: I think we all know why the price of this bag has been reduced. Grown women cannot get away with dressing like Barbie, in spite of some of our deepest hopes. On Shopbop for $227.50 (from $325).
