Photograpther: Tommaso Fontanella
I am back in Florence, styling looks for Luisa via Roma Fall 2012 collections. As always, it is a pleasure to return to a city that is so near and dear to my heart. I find much joy and inspiration by virtue of just being here! This trip, the folks at Luisa via Roma outdid themselves! Upon arrival after a very long flight from Dallas, I was greeted by my driver in a chic Mercedes Benz (Mercedes was our sponsor for the trip!) who then whisked me to my home away from home in Florence– JK Place.
I was also excited to be reunited with my favorite photographer in Florence, the talented Tommaso Fontanella. We collaborated on a few different ideas prior to my arrival and were inspired by photos taken by famed photographer Brian Duffy in 1964 for American Vogue. For the first look, I loved the idea of a chicly dressed woman stopping to read up on current events and stock news on her way to cocktails with her lover/husband or whomever. We shot at the exact location in front of Duomo where the newsstand still exists, 50 years later (except it now sells umbrellas and tourist knick knacks!).
I chose David Koma’s silk jacquard & techno jersey dress with peplum, Gaowei_Xinzhan embroidered flower jacket (draped casually over the shoulders) and Roger Vivier’s classic pilgrim clutch for its retro appeal. Hope you enjoy the photos! I’ll be posting a few more looks soon!
